The Lipman-Miliband Trust Grant Programme (UK)

The Lipman-Miliband Trust is now accepting applications for its Grant Programme. Here’s everything you need to know:

Purpose of the Grant:

The Lipman-Miliband Trust aims to fund projects that focus on:

  • Research and study of socialist ideas and related fields.
  • Sharing these ideas and research with the public.
  • Educational activities that raise awareness of movements for peace, human rights, cooperation, and a more equal and democratic society.

Your project must align with these goals to be considered.

Funding Details

  • You can apply for funding up to £3,000. The grant can be used to:
  • Fund entire projects.
  • Support parts of larger projects.
  • Projects with broad outreach that drive transformative change.
  • Projects that actively engage with their intended audiences and promote meaningful outcomes.

What They Fund:

  • Complete projects or parts of larger projects.
  • Projects with significant outreach potential.
  • Initiatives that engage their target audiences and promote active outcomes.

What They Do Not Fund:

  • Any part of undergraduate or postgraduate studies (e.g., tuition fees, research costs for assignments or dissertations, living expenses).
  • Projects focused mainly on service provision rather than education. For example, a food bank provides support but does not engage in educational activities related to the Trust’s aims.
  • Projects connected to political parties or those not complying with Charity Commission guidelines on political activity.
  • Retrospective costs (expenses incurred before receiving the grant).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Individuals.

Ineligibility:

  1. Organizations or individuals based outside the UK.
  2. Applicants who have received a grant from the Trust in the past two years.
